JFilm Festival

The 20th Annual JFilm Festival

For two decades, the Pittsburgh Jewish Film Forum has celebrated films from around the globe that focus on Jewish culture. JFilm hosts screenings and community events year round. Each spring, it all culminates in its hallmark affair, the annual JFilm Festival. In addition to special screenings of independently produced films, festival-goers can expect a packed calendar that includes lectures, workshops, and panels. The Robinson International Short Film Competition will be announced and includes cash prizes. Other awards given include Best Narrative and Best Documentary.

JFilm has been the winner of prestigious grants and awards including the Schusterman Visiting Artist Grant. Other JFilm programs include the Red String Film Series. In addition to movie screenings, this series focuses on special networking opportunities for those 21 to 35 years of age throughout Pittsburgh. For nascent movie enthusiasts, Teen Screen is a free program especially for high school and middle school students and their teachers. It allows them to see films for free with a focus on Jewish issues. The goal of the program is to promote tolerance and understanding of diverse cultures in young people.

Tickets for the 2014 JFilm Festival are sold as $10 vouchers and can be purchased in advance on the JFilm website. You can buy as many vouchers as you think you'll need. Check back for the Festival film screening line-up as the time draws nearer.
